ITINERARY

  • Day 1 Sat Jul 04 – Arrive Bangkok

Welcome to Bangkok! After clearing arrival formalities, you will be met and transferred to the hotel. The balance of the day is at your leisure.

Accommodation:  INCLUDED

  • Day 2 Sun Jul 05 - Full Day Best of Bangkok Temples and Klongs

Breakfast at the hotel. Your tour starts with a visit to Wat Traimit (the Temple of the Golden Buddha), this temple is known for its famous Golden Buddha. Thought to have been constructed during the Sukhothai period and at three meters high and weighing five and a half tons, the Golden Buddha, officially titled Phra Phuttha Maha Suwan Patimakon, is the world's largest solid gold statue.

You will then visit The Grand Palace, which is one of the most beautiful examples of an ancient Siamese court that incorporates several palaces and halls used for different occasions. Bangkok’s former royal palace is an intriguing blend of Italian Renaissance architecture and classical Thai roofing. It was begun in 1782 by King Rama I and improved upon by subsequent rulers. See the Throne Hall, the Coronation Hall, the Reception Palace and the Funeral Palace. Go on to see The Emerald Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Kaeo). Bangkok’s most important and sacred wat. Built at the end of the 18th century by King Rama I, this splendid example of Thai aesthetics and religious architecture houses the Emerald Buddha, Thailand’s most venerated image. So small and distant that it can hardly be seen, the jade image symbolizes the independence, strength and good fortune of the country. The Interior walls are painted with superb frescoes, while murals between the window frames depict Jataka scenes from the life of Buddha.

Lunch at local restaurant (Thai Set – Food only)

Continuing on, look around Wat Pho, built by King Rama I nearly 200 years ago and housing the gigantic Reclining Buddha or Phra Buddhasaiyas. This distinctive image is 150 ft long and almost 50ft high and entirely covered in gold leaf. The soles of the feet are intricately inlaid with 108 auspicious signs of the Buddha. Wat Pho is also regarded as the first center of public education and the birthplace of traditional Thai massage, and as such is sometimes referred to as "Thailand's First University". Continuing short walk to the pier. Onboard a private Longtail boat to explore the Thonburi Klongs. A cruise through the Thonburi canals is an experience that no other Asian capital can offer. The journey down the legendary Chao Phraya River, known as the “River of Kings”, and its tributary klongs (canals) gives a perspective on the critical importance this waterway played in the creation of Bangkok and the old capital of Thonburi, hence the title “Venice of the East”. A boat trip takes us to famous riverside landmarks including the Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun) whose towering spire has become an iconic symbol of Bangkok.  There will be ample time for photo opportunities. Leaving the klongs you will be returned to your hotel.

Please Note: When visiting The Grand Palace, you are required to wear appropriate attire. Shorts, short skirts and sleeveless attire are NOT permitted to be worn within the grounds.

  • Day 3 Mon Jul 06 – Bangkok

Breakfast at the hotel. Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and Maeklong Railway Market

Meet the guide and take just a short drive from the bustling streets of Bangkok, the high-rise urban landscape dissolves into a lush green rural idyll. This full-day trip to Samut Songkhram Province, only an hour outside the capital, allows guests to experience the traditional charms of the Thai countryside.

The day starts with a trip to a local railway station where a bustling country market has sprouted up along the tracks. When a train pulls in or out of the station, the vendors quickly clear their stalls, only to set them up again moments later when the train has passed! From here, the journey continues to very famous touristic Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Although quite touristy today, the market remains the best example to display how a floating market originally was like decades ago.

A relaxing paddleboat ride through the labyrinth of canals offer the chance to see the old part of the floating market and local lifestyle along the canal side.

Off the boat, it is time to enjoy strolling around the colorful floating marketplace bustling with boats and vendors selling tropical fruits and other delights.

Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant at the floating market. After lunch, the tour will continue by coach to a local Buddhist temple and the King Rama II Memorial Park, with its ornate collection of Thai-style pavilions. You will then return to Bangkok and your hotel.

Evening Street Food Delights by Tuk Tuk

This evening, you will be met at your hotel by your guide for your food tour.

Hop on Bangkok's iconic 3-wheel tuk tuk to begin your night adventure to visit the best local eateries in town. Bangkok is claimed to be the city that never stops eating and locals usually find themselves eating out at night, especially street food, which the city is so well-known for.

From the local favourite Northern Thai-Isan Food, the best kept-secret Guay Tiew Gai guaranteed with a Michelin star for 2 consecutive years, and one of the best Pad Thais in town; popular with both locals and foreigners alike.
